“Mirror Mirror” – Self Portrait – finished
Here is the completed self portrait I was working on the other day. Its 18×24 on charcoal paper and done with conte, although technically mixed media as I used ball point for the irises. If you would like to see more progress photos, I’ve made them available to all patrons over the 5$ level. again thank you to all contributors and all fans for your interest!
“Comfort in Round Room”
Although it is a more stylized piece, this is an attempt for me to strengthen my skills at realism, since I’ve mostly been working in a comic illustrative style for the last few years. This is the second piece where I am trying to re-familiarize myself with conte as a medium, and I’m very excited with the results.
I’m considering getting a color palate of conte, as well as some black to do some further experimenting with. Let me know what you think!
Para-normi-a
Pen and Ink on Paper, 11×14. Although still a bit in my more graphic style, I felt this was worth putting up. If anyone is interested in purchase of the piece, message me – 60$ (includes shipping) or best offer. Also have my progress photos (although I forgot to photo my early pencils before starting ink 😛 ) posted for 5$ and above Patrons.
Window Seat
Conté crayon on charcoal paper. This represents a return to using conté, a medium I haven’t used in about 10 years. In order to get back into the groove of using it, I’m doing a few experimental pieces that blend my love of cubism with some aspects of realism and portraiture. I especially want to thank Lissa Redshaw, whose purchase of several of my experimental cubist pencil works helped me buy the supplies for this present series.
A Shift in Tone
Although I will be continuing much of the same illustrative and occult artwork I am known for, this will mostly be at my website, panikbedlam.com. Here on patreon, I am making an intentional shift to present my fine art. These are the pieces I normally create for gallery shows and grant organizations. However, I much prefer seeking out my support from my fans so I can tailor my work to your tastes as well as my own.
I’d like to thank my current donors for their continued support, and would encourage new fans to help support my work as well.
